“Full Court Press Vol. 1”- a rap album including tracks by Juwan Howard, Carlos Boozer, Glen Davis, Stephen Jackson, Shawn Marion and Lou Williams – released a teaser video (hat tip: Rodger Sherman of SB Nation).

Needless to say, with that group on board, it looks AWESOME.

The album was supposed to drop All-Star Weekend 2013. Now, the release is slated for the fall.

I hope the delay is worth it.

It’s been a long couple years for the players involved in the album.

Howard retired. Boozer got amnestied. Davis got waived, and so did Jackson. Marion is still a free agent. And Williams got traded as a salary dump.

Of course, the 41-year-old Howard – the oldest of the bunch – stole the show. A sample of his lyrics:

You might remember me from the Fab 5

Hoop dream Wolverine jersey No. 5

Yes, Howard rhymed five with five. Deal with it. He’s just continuing a Michigan tradition, though watering it down. In his hit “No. 1,” former Michigan basketball player Brent Pettway once rhymed Hunter with hunter with Hunter. As in:

Then in comes Big Game Hunter

Known as the big-game hunter

Shoot 3-pointers like his name’s Lindsey Hunter

Was that a compliment?
