LeBron and Chris Bosh hug it out before preseason game between Heat and Cavaliers

Leading up to Saturday’s preseason contest between the Cavaliers and the Heat, there was more than one remark attributed to Chris Bosh that led us to believe he was less than pleased with LeBron James, and his decision to bolt Miami for Cleveland in free agency this summer.

Bosh said he hasn’t talked to James since he left, and warned Kevin Love that playing alongside LeBron would be extremely frustrating.

LeBron admitted to being surprised by the comments he was hearing, given all that he went through with his Miami teammates over the last four seasons. But the remarks made through the media are purely superficial, and really don’t give us an honest look into what these relationships are truly all about.

The two put to rest any rumors of mutual discontent with a warm greeting before tip-off on Saturday.

It appears LeBron James and Chris Bosh are once again friends. As if they ever weren’t. James squashed the thoughts of their strained relationship with a hug at midcourt before Saturday’s tip-off between the Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers at HSBC Arena. The players supposedly were feuding once James announced he was leaving the Heat to return to the hometown Cavs. Both denied any rift.

Bosh was at fault for the perceived rift, at least to a certain extent. The media is of course going to dig at an open wound like the one James left by leaving his Miami teammates, but it’s up to the players not to feed into that if they want the (non-) story to disappear.
