Things have gone from bad to worse for the Nets. At 10-23, they have the second-worst record in the Eastern Conference, and now they’ve lost their starting point guard for the rest of the year. The team announced on Sunday that Jarrett Jack will undergo knee surgery and miss the remainder of the season:
The Nets weren’t going anywhere this season regardless, but this is still a brutal blow for them. Jack was having a solid season, averaging 12.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 1.1 steals per game, and he’s generally been one of their more solid veterans in the two seasons he’s been in Brooklyn. They’ll have to rely on Shane Larkin and Donald Sloan to start at point guard the rest of the season, unless they make a move of some kind, and there’s no clear answer as to what that could be.
