Paul George: Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant are friends again

Paul George said he spoke with Kevin Durant about joining the Thunder, but Oklahoma City’s newest star added he didn’t want to know too much about the Durant-Russell Westbrook relationship.

George learned something, though.

George on The Woj Pod, as transcribed by Adam Kemp of The Oklahoman:

“Whatever went between him and Russ that’s their business. It’s not my point to want to know or want to figure out what happened. It’s pointless. They are buddies, they are back good again. I’m here to build something different and something special.”

Kendrick Perkins also said in May that Durant and Thunder were again cordial. So why haven’t the stars publicly acknowledged their reconnection?

Westbrook always seemed more interested in marketing the feud and using it to motivate himself and his teammates. Durant was the one who wanted to downplay it – he publicly congratulated Westbrook on MVP – but even Durant is having fun with it now.
