The Wizards barely outrebounded the Hawks after Atlanta misses when Paul Pierce played power forward in Game 1, 13-12.
But whatever deficiencies Pierce has as a small-ball four, he definitely has the toughness for the position.
With the Hawks swarming defensively on a critical late possession, Pierce absolutely laid out DeMarre Carroll with a screen – freeing John Wall, who found Otto Porter for a layup.
Just wanted to call a little attention to that overlooked nice play in Washington’s win.
