After a disastrous 2015-16 season, the Rockets will look very different next year. They’ve already brought in a new coach, Mike D’Antoni, and Dwight Howard is out the door. With Howard’s departure comes a lot of cap space, and a good chunk of that will go to former Pelicans forward Ryan Anderson, who agreed to a four-year, $80 million deal in Houston, according to Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle:
Rockets reach agreement with forward Ryan Anderson -- four years, $80 million.

Anderson is probably the biggest name the Rockets realistically could have gotten, and he fits a need for a versatile shooter alongside James Harden. But he’s a major defensive liability, and more importantly, has a history of back problems that is not insignificant. But if he’s healthy, Anderson will fit well in D’Antoni’s offense as a secondary offensive weapon.
