The Trail Blazers reportedly offered Terry Stotts a five-year, $20 million contract extension, and they eventually reached a deal with their coach.

So, how much did he get?

Kevin Arnovitz of ESPN:

The big unanswered question: How much will Stotts make next season? Did Portland just exercise Stotts’ team option, which presumably would pay him less than $5 million? Or did that get renegotiated as part of the extension?

Stotts – who finished second Coach of the Year voting – has earned a salary in the $5 million range. On the other hand, the Trail Blazers hired him when – after failed stints with the Bucks and Hawks – other teams might not have. Perhaps, Portland should get full return on that investment with a cheaper 2016-17 salary.

The Trail Blazers might need a little extra cash on hand to pay players next season.
