Well all know the Golden State Warriors blew a 3-1 lead in the 2016 NBA Finals to the Cleveland Cavaliers. It’s even a running joke on Twitter, and for months you would constantly see folks responding to serious news around the world with “Never let this distract you from the fact the Warriors blew a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals despite having the first unanimous MVP in league history.”
I’m tired just thinking about it, to be honest.
But Loren Lee Chen, a two-time Jeopardy! champion, basketball podcaster, and Internet aficionado, isn’t.
Chen won $19,899 on Tuesday and $16,139 on Wednesday, rankling Warriors fans with his final bets. In Final Jeopardy! Chen made wagers on consecutive nights of $301 and $739.
The Warriors of course blew a 3-1 lead, and had a regular season record of 73-9.
As I said yesterday, 3 and 1 are some good numbers. Don’t you just feel invincible after seeing the numbers 3 and 1? https://t.co/JDJmtFqFyX

I already said about yesterday’s 301. Now $739, lemme tell you about the numbers 73 and 9. Really feels like nothing can go wrong after that https://t.co/QwQSiWS2GA
