Forward Nick Fazekas has reportedly been one of the most impressive workout players around, shooting a ridiculous 75% from NBA 3-point range in virtually every workout he’s had.
He could be the best pure shooter in the draft. He shot 57% from the field, 43% from 3-point range and 85% from the free throw line this season as a senior at Nevada, so the reports of his hot hand recently are probably not a fluke. The Nets, Lakers, Suns and Rockets all appear to possibly be targeting the big man, and his stock is currently on the rise. The only concern is his uncommonly high foot arches, which some worry may lead to injury problems down the road.

The Mavericks picked sharp-shooting Nevada forward Nick Fazekas with the 34th pick in the draft.
This could be a steal for the Mavs and gives them an excellent outside threat and a guy who can bang down low when necessary.
  • Power Forward #7
The Rockets acquired the rights to Purdue forward Carl Landry, sending a 2008 second-round pick and cash to the Sonics.
The Rockets’ draft left something to be desired, as they got a point guard (Aaron Brooks) they didn’t need in the first round, and reached for Landry with the first pick of the second. With names like Josh McRoberts, Nick Fazekas and Glen Davis still on the board, Landry made little sense here.

The Dallas Mavericks signed second-round draft pick forward Nick Fazekas on Thursday.
Terms of the contract were not disclosed. The Mavericks selected Fazekas as the 34th overall pick in the 2007 draft and he’s expected to back up forward Dirk Nowitzki and provide a 3-point threat for the Mavs this season.

Nick Fazekas, Dallas’ top draft choice this year, headlines the Mavericks’ Summer League team.
The team, which plays an exhibition game Tuesday, also includes Lithuanian guard Renaldas Seibutis, forward Reyshawn Terry, DeSagana Diop, Maurice Ager, J.J. Barea, and Pops Mensah-Bonsu. Eight free agents are also on the squad. Dallas is hoping Fazekas can develop into a solid backup power forward behind Dirk Nowitzki.
  • LAC Power Forward
The Mavericks waived Nick Fazekas on Tuesday, clearing room to sign Keith Van Horn and complete the Jason Kidd trade.
Fazekas’ abbreviated stint in the NBA caused him to miss the D-League All-Star game, but the rookie should get another shot at the big leagues next year.
  • LAC Power Forward
The Mavericks re-called Nick Fazekas from the D-League on Wednesday, another indication that the Jason Kidd trade is all but official.
The Mavs have only eight healthy bodies (the league minimum) for Wednesday’s game against Portland, so Fazekas gives them some insurance. He won’t have any value.
  • LAC Power Forward
The Mavericks sent F Nick Fazekas to the D League on Tuesday.
He’s not likely to have fantasy value at any point this season.
  • LAC Power Forward
The Clippers plan on signing F Nick Fazekas to a 10-day contract on Wednesday.
Fazekas was let go by Dallas recently, but shouldn’t have value with the Clippers this season, either.
  • LAC Power Forward
Free agent forward Nick Fazekas is working out for the Spurs, and says that a number of NBA teams have shown interest in signing him.
Fazekas had received a qualifying offer from the Clippers, but it was dissolved on August 1st. He is owed money for the two-year contract he signed with Dallas last season, but isn’t content to sit back and cash his checks. “If I had to go to Europe, it’s not the end of the world,” he said. “But my goal has always been to play in the NBA, so that is what I am focused on.” Fazekas could very well become a reliable NBA player, but he won’t be of interest to fantasy owners next season.
