The Spurs are signing 2015 draft pick Olivier Hanlan.
It will assuredly be a training camp deal and fantasy owners aren’t likely to hear Hanlan’s name after the first week of September.
  • SAS Shooting Guard #21
Olivier Hanlan will play for the Jazz during the summer league.
The former second round pick has one year left on his deal with Zalgiris Kaunas in Lithuania, but the Jazz will be able to see how much his game has developed during the summer league. The Jazz have plenty of depth at guard anyways, so Hanlan is not on the fantasy radar.
  • SAS Power Forward #33
The Spurs have traded Boris Diaw to the Utah Jazz in exchange for the rights to Olivier Hanlan.
The Spurs needed to trade Diaw in order to clear up enough cap space to sign Pau Gasol, so this is an expected move. As for the Jazz, Diaw will give them some additional depth in the frontcourt after they lost Trevor Booker to the Nets, but he probably won’t see too many minutes because Trey Lyles looked fantastic after the All-Star break last season.

The Spurs now own the rights to Olivier Hanlan after trading Boris Diaw to the Jazz.
Hanlan was a second round pick in 2015 and spent last season with Zalgiris Kaunas of the Lithuanian Basketball League. Hanlan’s chances of making San Antonio’s 15-man roster aren’t good, so he may head overseas once again.

Jazz selected Boston College combo guard Olivier Hanlan in the second round of the draft.
He’s a score-first point guard, averaging 19.5 points per game with 4.2 boards, 4.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.2 treys on 45.4 percent shooting in his junior year at Boston College. Hanlan also ran a lot of pick-and-roll at BC, so that could help his adjustment period. He won’t be needed much for the Jazz in his rookie season, so don’t expect much from his this season.

Second round pick Olivier Hanlan admitted to being uncertain about his immediate NBA future.
The Jazz are likely to offer him a one-year, non-guaranteed deal to retain his rights after an up-and-down summer league, and that point, Hanlan can either sign or go play in Europe or the D-League so Utah can “stash” his rights. As for which route he might take, Hanlan says he’s “not sure at this point, really.”

Olivier Hanlan has signed a two-year deal with Zalgiris Kaunas in Lithuania.
The Jazz selected him with the 42nd pick in this year’s draft, but he was never expected to contribute right away. The Jazz still own his draft rights, so we could see him come to the states in the near future. Hanlan averaged 19.5 points, 4.2 boards, 4.3 assists, 1.3 steals and 2.2 3-pointers during his junior year at Boston College.
