Patric Young is “chasing” an NBA deal with the Clippers in summer league, a source told David Pick of Basketball Insiders.
Young has excelled overseas in the rebounding department, and although he could continue his career abroad, he wants to test the NBA waters before doing so. Young signed a two-year deal with the Pelicans last offseason, but he didn’t survive on the roster for very long.

Patric Young signed a deal with Olympiacos.
He turned down a deal from Olympiacos just three days ago, but he changed his mind. Perhaps he wasn’t in line to get much playing time with the Suns or Clippers in summer league. While Young is in incredible shape, he needs to work on the basketball side of things.
  • Power Forward #4
The Suns have added Patric Young to their Summer League roster.
Young averaged 8.7 points and 6.4 rebounds playing overseas in Turkey last season, and he’ll see if he can get a commitment from an NBA team putting his skills on display during Summer League. He’s a long shot to make an NBA roster, and even if he does, he won’t have any value in standard fantasy leagues.
  • Power Forward #4
Patric Young, who will be in summer league with the Suns, has turned down a deal from Olympiacos.
Young is hoping to revive his career stateside, but he could always return to the international game at a later date.

The Pelicans have reportedly agreed with PF/C Patric Young on a two-year contract.
Young played five games for New Orleans during Summer League, averaging 7.4 points, 8.0 rebounds and 0.8 blocks without a single assist to his credit. It’s nice to see his blue-collar work rewarded with a contract offer (which may be unguaranteed) but he’s very unlikely to make an impression in fantasy leagues.

Patric Young will join the Pelicans for Las Vegas Summer League in July.
The senior looked great in the Gators’ run in the NCAA tourney and put up a season-high 19 points vs. the UCONN Huskies in a season-ending loss, finishing with averages of 11.0 points, 6.2 boards, 1.1 blocks 0.6 steals and 1.3 turnovers on 54.1 percent from the field and 59.6 from the line. Young is built a little like Serge Ibaka at 6’10" and one of the more shredded players in this class, but he’ll have to work on his perimeter game. He obviously has a lot of work to do after not getting drafted.
  • Power Forward #4
Patric Young was productive vs. the Lakers on Sunday with 10 points, six boards, one turnover and one block in 29 minutes.
He is coming off a 11-13 double-double in the opener and is really showing a high motor in the paint. Young was also diving for balls and is giving it his all. He was undrafted, so he’ll need to keep it up for the duration of the event to have a chance on making the team.
  • Power Forward #4
Patric Young signed with Galatasaray of the Turkish league after he was waived by the Pelicans on Sunday.
He wasn’t in the rotation in New Orleans, so the rookie will have a chance to how his game overseas. Young can be dropped across the board and we will let you know if he latches onto another NBA team in the future.
  • NBA Small Forward #12
The Pelicans have waived Darius Miller and Patric Young.
Miller was a surprise start on Tuesday, and was waived on Sunday. He may be able to sign on with another team, but unless that team is the 76ers, his fantasy value will be negligible. Young hadn’t even got off the bench this season, and he’ll likely head to the D-League.
  • Power Forward #4
Patric Young was on the Pelicans’ inactive list for Tuesday’s season opener.
Young’s deal has only $55k guaranteed this season and his 2015-16 salary is fully unguaranteed, so it’s unclear if he’ll stick on the roster all season. Even if he does lay claim to the 15th-man role, he’s unownable in fantasy leagues.
