The Rockets have reached an agreement to bring undrafted Temple guard Will Cummings to training camp.
He averaged 14.8 points, 4.2 assists, 4.1 boards and 1.9 steals during his senior season at Temple, but he is expected to end up with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the D-League.

When asked about what he could bring to the table for the Rockets, Will Cummings said his quickness in transition and ability to score could help set him apart.
“Quickness in transition and the ability to make plays at the point guard position. Another thing they liked about me was that I am able to score the basketball,” Cummings said. “I also take pride defensively so being able to guard at the position is something I can bring to the table as well.” The Rockets are set at point guard with Ty Lawson and Patrick Beverley set to play big roles, but Cummings will hope to try an earn a roster spot as the team’s third-string PG in training camp. Cummings is not on the fantasy radar.
  • Joshua Smith, Denzel Livingston, Will Cummings and Chris Walker will play for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in the D-League.
The four players were let go by Houston toward the end of the preseason, but they’ll all be affiliate players in the D-League this year.

The Rockets waived Will Cummings on Friday.
Cummings is an undrafted point guard out of Temple, but he never had a realistic shot of making the team.
