The Grizzlies have claimed G Tony Wroten off waivers.
Wroten will be returning to the team that drafted him, and things have reportedly been going well in his recovery from a partially torn ACL. It’s unlikely that Wroten can establish himself as a standard league asset during the 2016-17 season. The Wroten signing could spell the end of Xavier Munford’s time in Memphis.

The Grizzlies will not bring back Xavier Munford, according to NBA reporter David Pick.
This isn’t a surprise with the Grizzlies picking up Wade Baldwin IV in the draft. Munford was solid at times on the defensive end, but he’ll have to work on his offense. Expect him to be in Vegas for Summer League.

Xavier Munford is playing for the Lakers summer league team.
Munford got into 14 regular season games with Memphis last season, but he’s trying to play his way back onto the NBA radar with the Lakers. Given Los Angeles has D’Angelo Russell, Jose Calderon and Marcelo Huertas at the point guard position, Munford is likely auditioning for a spot on a different team.

The Clippers are signing Xavier Munford to a training camp deal.
He played 14 regular season games and 22.3 minutes per game in the postseason. Munford did have a blip on the radar with back-to-back double-digit scoring games, but he’s still unlikely to be a factor this season.

The Clippers will reportedly waive G Xavier Munford on Wednesday.
With three point guards already on the roster on guaranteed contracts in Los Angeles, Munford never had a realistic shot of making the team.

The Bucks have requested waivers on Xavier Munford.
Munford, who didn’t appear in any of the team’s preseason games, was never a serious threat to make Milwaukee’s 15-man roster.

The Grizzlies officially signed G Xavier Munford to a 10-day deal on Wednesday.
He’ll be available to play tonight, but head coach Dave Joerger said he might not even play given he’s only had one shootaround with the team. However, with Mike Conley (Achilles), Lance Stephenson (wrist), Vince Carter (calf) and P.J. Hairston (groin) all banged up, Joerger really doesn’t have many other options. This is a wait-and-see situation in most leagues.
  • HOU Shooting Guard #19
P.J. Hairston (left groin) will not suit up for Wednesday’s game against the Timberwolves, as expected.
Hairston is likely to spend the next two weeks on the sidelines as he recovers from a groin injury, so he can safely be sent back to the waiver wire in all leagues. With Vince Carter (calf) and Lance Stephenson (wrist) questionable for Wednesday’s game, Ray McCallum, Briante Weber and newly signed Xavier Munford could be forced into extra minutes against the Timberwolves, with McCallum offering the most upside. Matt Barnes and Tony Allen should carry the load on the wings.

The Grizzlies are set sign G Xavier Munford, according to sources of Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports.
Menford has been averaging 20.4 points, 6.4 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 1.7 triples per game on 49.0 percent shooting in the D-League this season, and he’ll bring some much-needed backcourt depth to a Memphis team that has been ravaged by injuries. He could see some minutes in the rotation Wednesday vs. Minnesota if Lance Stephenson (wrist) is unavailable, but this is a wait-and-see situation in nearly all leagues.

Xavier Munford scored a career-high 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting during Friday’s loss to the Raptors, adding two boards, three assists, one steal, two 3-pointers and two turnovers in 22 minutes.
It was obviously Munford’s best game as a pro, but he hadn’t really done much of anything up to this point. We’re going to need to see a repeat performance before we can recommend him as an add in most settings.
