Wizards draft pick Yannick Nzosa will remain in Spain for the 2022-23 season, GM Tommy Sheppard confirmed to NBC Sports’ Chase Hughes.
Sheppard referred to Nzosa as a “stash guy,” which is no surprise. As the overall No. 54 pick in the Draft, the 18-year-old Nzosa has a long developmental path to fantasy relevance. “He has potential down the road,” Sheppard told Rookie Wire. “His age gives us a lot of time. He has got some years and his buyout is manageable ... We’ve had some good experiences in the past letting players [develop] in Spain.” We’ll let you know if he emerges on the fantasy radar for the 2023-24 season.

The Wizards have selected Yannick Nzosa with the No. 54 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.
Nzosa is a very athletic, 6-foot-11, 215-pound forward, but the 18-year-old’s ability to impact the game remains a question. He failed to differentiate himself much in Europe with career averages of 3.5 points, 2.4 rebounds and not much else on 53.4% shooting from the field and 71.4% at the stripe. The Wizards will look to develop his game, but we wouldn’t look to draft him in fantasy hoops.
