Seahawks signed G Mike Wahle. Profootballtalk.com reports the deal is for five years, but backloaded and closer to a three- or four-year pact.
It includes a “small” signing bonus. Wahle isn’t the Pro Bowler he once was, but will only be 31 this year and knows Mike Holmgren’s offense. He will start at left guard this season, replacing Seattle’s 2007 duo there of Rob Sims and Floyd Womack. Chris Gray will likely stay at right guard.
  • Floyd Womack took first team reps at left and right guard at practice on Wednesday.
Coach Mike Holmgren has been strongly implying that he might shake things up in an effort to revitalize the running game in Seattle. Womack could replace Chris Gray or Rob Sims against Cleveland in Week 9.

Seahawks G Chris Gray has retired from football.
Gray, who would’ve been in his 16th season, injured his spine in practice. The former fifth-round draft pick never made a Pro Bowl, but started 170 games and was a technician inside during Shaun Alexander’s glory years.

The Seahawks will re-sign guard Chris Gray to a two-year, $1.78 million contract.
He choose Seattle over San Francisco. Seattle has successfully kept their excellent line together. Floyd ''Pork Chop’’ Womack will likely go back to right tackle.

Seahawks G Chris Gray suffered a sprained knee in Week 4.
Seattle can’t afford to lose another line starter with their left guard spot already shaky. Rookie Rob Sims replaced Gray on Sunday.

Coach Mike Holmgren said Monday that G Chris Gray (knee) may play in Week 4.
“Chris has played a long time, and he knows his body, and he’s had injuries, and he kind of knows what he can do and when he can’t do something,” Holmgren said. “They thought in the beginning this was going to be a time thing, and then all of a sudden it’s not as bad as they thought.”
