Arizona coach Dennis Green challenged tight end Freddie Jones, saying that he wouldn’t start unless he was Pro-Bowl caliber.
Green has repeatedly said Jones needs to catch 50+ passes this year. He’s a solid sleeper at tight end next season in Green’s offense.
  • CAR Tight End
Freddie Jones announced his retirement Sunday.
Panthers training camp, known as one of the toughest in the league, seems to have this affect on a veteran or two every season. Jones’ decent receiving skills could cause a few teams to inquire how long he wants to stay retired.
  • CAR Tight End
Freddie Jones led the Cardinal with four receptions and 43 yards receiving.
The Arizona offensive line just doesn’t look NFL-ready. Until they develop, most of the Arizona skill position players will remain tough fantasy plays.
  • CAR Tight End
Freddie Jones missed Wednesday practice with a groin injury.
It’s not believed to be serious. The tight end is one of the last men standing in the Arizona offensive attack. Look for Jones to be a focal point of the offense, making him a fantasy sleeper.
  • CAR Tight End
Freddie Jones is questionable for tonight’s game with a groin injury.
Jones was already a starting fantasy tight end, but should see even more balls thrown his way with the injuries to the Cardinal wideouts.
  • CAR Tight End
Coach Denny Green laments the fact that the Cardinals haven’t made better use of Freddie Jones.
“We have not had as many receptions to the tight end as some other people have,” Green said. “I think that falls in line with us not being as good throwing the football as a lot of teams.” Jones has had to stay in on pass protection a lot this season.
  • CAR Tight End
Freddie Jones caught three passes for 46 yards and a touchdown today.
Jones scored the only touchdown for the Cardinals today, but will have minimal value based on the QB situation in Arizona.
  • CAR Tight End
The Panthers told Freddie Jones he’ll be primarily a blocking tight end this season.
The Panthers don’t ask their tight ends to catch. It’s safe to ignore Jones in fantasy leagues.
  • CAR Tight End
Freddie Jones, an unrestricted free agent, will visit the Vikings today.
The tight end carousel is spinning Jones, Itula Mili, Anthony Becht, Jermaine Wiggins, and Jeb Putzier around. Minnesota and Denver are easily the best landing spots for fantasy purposes.
  • CAR Tight End
The Packers are interested in signing tight end Freddie Jones despite placing the ''transition’’ tag on Bubba Franks.
This would potentially sap the fantasy usefullness of both players in 2005.
