49ers placed CBs Jamar Taylor (knee) and Ken Webster (hamstring) on injured reserve.
Neither are impact players, but more I.R. placements is the last thing the 49ers’ injury-decimated defense needs. Taylor had been operating as Niners’ primary slot corner since Week 5. Elite coordinator Robert Saleh will continue to do all he can to duct tape and glue his defense.

  • Defensive Back
    49ers released CB Jamar Taylor.
This is the time of year where teams make last-minute roster decisions and move money around to round out their 53-man roster. Taylor reportedly had a good camp and could re-sign with the 49ers once the team figures out their cap space. He may have to settle for a spot on the practice squad to open the season.

  • Defensive Back
49ers signed CB Jamar Taylor to a one-year contract.
Once a promising talent with the Dolphins and Browns early in his career, Taylor, set to turn 30 in September, just hasn’t been the same player since leaving Cleveland following the 2017 season. He picked off three passes and broke up 23 others in two years with the Browns only to bounce around the league the past two years. San Francisco is his fifth team since the start of the 2018 campaign. He’ll be a long shot to make the roster.

  • Defensive Back
    Seahawks waived CB Jamar Taylor.
Taylor played 194 ineffective snaps for the Seahawks. His roster spot was needed to activate TE Ed Dickson off injured reserve. Taylor turned 29 this year.
  • Defensive Back
    Seahawks re-signed CB Jamar Taylor.
Taylor was released at final cuts but he’s back now that veteran salaries aren’t guaranteed. Seattle has since traded for Parry Nickerson, but Taylor gives them another option in the slot.
  • Defensive Back
    Seahawks released CB Jamar Taylor.
Taylor was thought to be the frontrunner for the Seahawks’ nickel cornerback position throughout training camp. Look for Shaquill Griffin and Tre Flowers to start on the outside for the Seahawks’ Week 1 matchup against the Bengals, leaving primary-slot receiver Tyler Boyd in an intriguing spot.
  • Defensive Back
    Seahawks signed CB Jamar Taylor.
Taylor struggled a bit last season, spending time with both the Cardinals and the Broncos. He was at least solid his two seasons in Cleveland, however, and can offer some depth to a corner corps which lost Justin Coleman to free agency.
  • Defensive Back
Free agent CB Jamar Taylor visited the Seahawks.
28-year-old Taylor appeared in 14 games between Denver and Arizona last year. He’s been in steep decline since his 2016 breakout with the Browns. Taylor would be a veteran depth signing for Seattle.
  • Defensive Back
Broncos signed CB Jamar Taylor, formerly of the Cardinals, to a one-year contract.
With Chris Harris battling a broken leg, Taylor could immediately slide into the slot. Taylor was released by the Cardinals late last month. Obviously, he was not having a strong campaign. It’s a major downgrade for the Broncos.
  • Defensive Back
The Broncos are expected to sign free agent CB Jamar Taylor.
He’s flying to Denver currently and will be signed if he passes a physical. Taylor will be a candidate at slot corner with Chris Harris nursing a fractured fibula. Taylor struggled mightily covering outside receivers with the Browns and Cardinals over the last two seasons but could work out better inside.
