''He passed the physical and we haven’t made a decision yet on it,’' Fisher said.Fisher said discussions were to continue last night and perhaps into today.If Dyson is on the roster Sunday, his base salary for the year would be guaranteed because he is a four-year veteran.Tennessee could conceivably sign him Monday, then have him until their injury questions are resolved, paying him only for the weeks he is with the team.

Although coach Jeff Fisher has not said he is signed yet, it appears as if Dyson could be returning to his former team.

No word on if Dyson will be signed.

Many instant evaluators over the summer pegged Dyson as the Chargers No. 1 receiver. But the journeyman has never recovered from his injuries in Tennessee and may be finished in the NFL. Eric Parker will start opposite a rotation of No. 2 receivers to open the season.

It’s not a good sign when you are signing San Diego’s wide receiver leftovers.

It appears Eric Parker, Kassim Osgood, and possibly Tim Dwight are ahead of Dyson on the depth chart.

It’s safe to stick two forks and a knife in Dyson’s career. Warner is the only other surprise here: He played a lot for Washington’s surprising D-line last season.

We thought Dyson’s career had ended. He could not crack a weak Chargers receiver group last year despite being healthy. While not a fantasy option, perhaps this paves the way for Rod Gardner’s release.

Dyson was released by the Chargers before the start of last season and didn’t play one down in 2004. If he couldn’t be useful at WR for San Diego last year, his skills must have diminished significantly.

Dyson should competing for a starting job in San Diego, but after missing much of the last two seasons, he’ll need to have a strong training camp to enter 2004 as a sleeper.
