ESPN’s Jordan Raanan believes that Giants head coach John Harbaugh “is going to want to” draft Notre Dame RB Jeremiyah Love if he is available with the No. 5 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Giants general manager Joe Schoen views Love as “an offensive weapon,” not just as a running back, so he may not disagree with Harbaugh in this scenario. That said, Raanan reminds viewers that Harbaugh is ultimately “running the show” in New York. The Giants are also interested in Ohio State LB Sonny Styles and Ohio State S Caleb Downs. Per Raanan, trading back into the Nos. 6-10 range before drafting Downs might be the “perfect scenario” for the Giants.
Nicholas Singleton

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Penn State RB Nicholas Singleton (foot) “has been medically cleared and has resumed running.”

Singleton broke the fifth metatarsal in his right foot at the Senior Bowl, which required surgery and prevented him from participating in pre-draft workouts. Per Schefter, Singleton “projects to be a mid-round pick next week.” Hopefully for Singleton’s sake and fantasy purposes, that means Round 3 rather than Rounds 4 or 5. He is an explosive dual-threat player with good size, though analysts typically knock his vision.
Caleb Downs

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said he “would not be surprised” if the Commanders draft the best defender available with the No. 7 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Rapoport cautioned viewers, saying he is not making any predictions, before listing Ohio State S Caleb Downs, Ohio State LB Sonny Styles and Miami EDGE Rueben Bain Jr. as potential options. An ESPN report from earlier this month indicated the Commanders are focused on improving the pass defense this year. Adding any of the three players listed above would go a long way toward that end.
Ty Simpson

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport believes the Cardinals could trade up from pick No. 34 to draft Alabama QB Ty Simpson late in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft.

Rapoport said he would be “surprised” if the Cardinals drafted a quarterback with the No. 3 overall pick. He also notes that Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort has a working relationship with Texans general manager Nick Caserio. The Texans currently hold the 28th overall pick. Swapping No. 34-plus for No. 28 would allow the Cardinals to get in front of the quarterback-needy Jets, who are slated to pick at the top of the second round, with pick No. 33. Rapoport also believes that if both the Cardinals and Jets pass on Simpson in this range, he may be waiting to be drafted for quite a while.
Jacoby Brissett

When asked about the Cardinals’ starting quarterback job, general manager Monti Ossenfort said, “we’ll see how that room looks by the time we get in August.”

This doesn’t tell us a whole lot. Readers might recall that the 2026 NFL Draft is next week, and the Cardinals hosted Alabama QB Ty Simpson for a top-30 visit yesterday. If the Cardinals do not draft a rookie quarterback, Jacoby Brissett will likely be the default starter, with only Gardner Minshew and Kedon Slovis joining him on the roster at this time. If that is the case, the pass catchers likely stand to benefit. Brissett was able to distribute the ball effectively last year. Rolling with a developmental rookie could hurt the receiving outlooks for TE Trey McBride, WR Michael Wilson and WR Marvin Harrison Jr.
Evan Engram

Broncos general manager George Paton said the team wants to add to TE Evan Engram’s workload next year.

The Broncos have also been heavily scouting the incoming tight end class. Per Paton, the group has “a nice variety of different types.” The team has hosted at least three tight ends on top-30 visits. Engram, 31, earned 77 targets last season. It is tough to envision him meaningfully increasing that number, but the Broncos obviously do not want to tip their hand ahead of next week’s draft, if they do intend to select a tight end. Paton adds that the team is “really honed in” on the players they expect to be available in the picks 45-75 range.
Dante Fowler

Seahawks hosted free agent EDGE Dante Fowler Jr. for a visit on Thursday.

Fowler has played for five different teams since entering the NFL in 2015 and spent three of the last four seasons with the Cowboys. He logged 30 quarterback pressures and three sacks in Dallas last year, showing he can still chip in as a rotational rusher. Fowler, 31, could just be looking for a one-year deal and a chance to win a championship.
A.J. Epenesa

Dolphins hosted free agent EDGE A.J. Epenesa for a visit on Thursday.

Epenesa nearly signed with the Browns in late-March, but the team chose not to sign him after examining the results of his physical. Epenesa spent the first six seasons of his career with the Bills in chilly Buffalo. Signing with the Dolphins would keep him in the AFC East, but with a much more enjoyable climate. Epenesa totaled 28 quarterback pressures and three sacks last year.
Rashawn Slater

Chargers general manager Joe Hortiz said the team is “not done on the offensive line.”

The Chargers began last year’s training camp possessing one of the league’s best offensive tackle duos in LT Rashawn Slater and RT Joe Alt. Things changed quickly. Slater suffered a season-ending patellar tendon rupture on August 7th, and Alt underwent season-ending surgery on his right ankle in early November, following a pair of high-ankle sprains. Deepening the offensive line rotation is a smart move for a playoff contender like the Chargers.
Dexter Lawrence

ESPN’s Jordan Raanan reports that the Giants are asking for “a lot” in trade talks regarding DT Dexter Lawrence.

Raanan adds that the feeling around the league is that Lawrence is “underpaid” on his current deal. He averages $22.5 million per year, tying for 11th at the position and is reportedly asking for more than $30 million per year. Chiefs DT Chris Jones tops the market at $31.75 million. Lawrence, 28, logged zero sacks last year, but in 2024, he tied for fourth at the position with 10. Per Raanan, the Giants do not want to give Lawrence a new deal following a down year, so Lawrence wants to be traded. The Giants are unlikely to be better off without him, but perhaps they can acquire a decent haul in return, allowing them to quickly retool the defensive line in the 2026 NFL Draft.
