Nebraska redshirt junior WR Oliver Martin (undisclosed) is not available for Saturday’s game against Michigan State.
Martin (6'1/200) has not played since Nebraska’s second game of the season, robbing the team of a key playmaker on the outside. The redshirt junior got his 2021 campaign off to a good start, as he caught six passes for 103 yards and a touchdown in Nebraska’s 30-22 loss to Illinois.

Nebraska redshirt junior WR Oliver Martin’s (undisclosed) status is uncertain for Saturday’s game against Michigan State.
Nebraska wide receivers coach Matt Lubbick indicate earlier in the week that Martin (6'1"/200) could play for the first time since the season opener. Coach Scott Frost later contradicted that statement saying he may not be ready. This could be a game-time decision depending on how well he does in warmups. Nebraska will be on the road against Michigan State this Saturday.

  • Wide Receiver
Nebraska redshirt junior WR Oliver Martin (undisclosed) has been officially ruled out for Saturday’s game at Oklahoma.
Martin (6'1/200), who was not on the field with his teammates for pregame warmups, will sit for a second consecutive week. With Omar Manning (lower body) back after sitting out the Huskers’ win over Buffalo, he and Zavier Betts will be the players most likely to fill the void left by Martin.

  • Wide Receiver
Nebraska wide receiver Oliver Martin did not warmup for Saturday’s game against Oklahoma.
Martin (6'1/200) missing the Week 3 tilt against Oklahoma would not be surprising. He was ruled out in Week 2 against Buffalo (undisclosed) and was already on the wrong end of questionable to play this week. This will mark the third straight game that Martin has missed.

  • Wide Receiver
Nebraska redshirt junior WR Oliver Martin (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Saturday’s game against Buffalo.
The Huskers will be down two wide receivers Saturday, as in addition to Martin (6'1/200), Omar Manning (lower body) has also been ruled out. And both have starting experience, as Martin started the opener against Illinois and Manning filled in for him in the win over Fordham. With those two out, Wyatt Liewer and Zavier Betts will figure more prominently in the Nebraska passing game.

  • Wide Receiver
Nebraska redshirt junior WR Oliver Martin caught six passes for 103 yards and a touchdown in a 30-22 loss to Illinois on Saturday.
Martin (6'1/200) parlayed a big training camp performance into a starting outside receiver, quickly established himself as the Cornhuskers primary aerial weapon. His four-yard touchdown reception came on a trips-wide set where the defensive back assigned to him bit on a run fake, leaving Martin all by himself in the left-corner of the end zone. He initially signed with Michigan as a four-star recruit in the 2017 before eventually pushing on to Iowa prior to the 2019 campaign. He never truly managed to carve out a role in Iowa City, though, finishing the 2019 season having caught just five passes for 28 yards and a touchdown. Martin will look to repeat his 100-yard showing next Saturday against Fordham.

  • Wide Receiver
Former Iowa redshirt junior WR Oliver Martin transferred to Nebraska.
Martin (6'1/200) continuing onward in an ever-winding collegiate career. He initially signed with Michigan as a four-star recruit in the 2017 before eventually pushing on to Iowa prior to the 2019 campaign. He never truly managed to carve out a role in Iowa City, though, finishing this past season having caught just five passes for 28 yards and a touchdown. Martin will serve as a depth cog for the Huskers come the spring, assuming the season does kick off early in 2021.

Iowa redshirt sophomore WR Oliver Martin (undisclosed) was not dressed out for Tuesday’s practice as the Hawkeyes prepare for their San Diego County Credit Union Holiday Bowl matchup with USC.
Martin (6'1/200) has appeared in eight games this season, catching five passes for 28 yards and a touchdown. The redshirt sophomore, who began his collegiate career at Michigan before transferring to Iowa in June, is one of a handful of players who were not dressed out for Tuesday’s practice. Iowa will face USC Friday night in the season finale for both teams.
  • Wide Receiver
Iowa redshirt sophomore WR Oliver Martin is immediately eligible.
Martin (6'1/200) is a former four-star recruit who enrolled at Michigan before transferring. He’ll be one of the better receiving options on the roster this season, but he may have to work himself into a bigger role as the season progresses since Iowa is now learning of his eligibility.
  • Wide Receiver
Iowa has yet to hear back from the NCAA on redshirt sophomore WR Oliver Martin’s eligibility waiver.
Martin (6'1/200) began his career at Michigan as a four-star signee back in 2017 before deciding to transfer to Iowa in June. The wideout is one of a number of FBS players who are still waiting for word on eligibility waivers this week, as the season’s shadow looms larger and larger. Iowa HC Kirk Ferentz is hopeful to hear from the governing body before the end of the week. We have heard this same kind of line from a number of coaches on their own eligibility-limboed players. Frustrating that the NCAA has not moved faster on these, as teams are being forced to plan for the campaign without knowing all of their available pieces.
