Falcons signed OL Pat McCoy, formerly of the Eagles.
The 6-5/328-pound lineman won’t see playing time for Atlanta this season, but is a prospect with some potential. He might make a contribution in 2008.

Eagles signed OT Pat McCoy from their practice squad and waived S Marcus Paschal.
Atlanta had shown interest in McCoy, a project from West Texas A&M, so Philly had to call him up to keep him. Paschal, an undrafted rookie, was no longer needed with Quintin Mikell healthy. The Eagles are down to three safeties.

Eagles waived OT Pat McCoy and signed S Marcus Paschal from their practice squad.
McCoy could be claimed off waivers this week. Paschal, an undrafted rookie from Iowa, adds depth with Brian Dawkins (back) questionable.

    Falcons waived/injured OT Pat McCoy.
He’ll revert to injured reserve. McCoy ran as Atlanta’s starting left tackle at pre-draft minicamps, which is a scary thought. Hoping for an upgrade, the Falcons traded up and reached for Sam Baker in the first round.

Pat McCoy lined up as the Falcons’ starting left tackle at the team’s first minicamp.
McCoy, a 27-year-old former undrafted free agent, has never appeared in an NFL game. Renardo Foster, who saw some starts on the blind side in 2007, practiced at left guard. Tackle is the biggest need area on the Falcons’ roster.
