Packers-49ers looked like one of the most compelling games of Week One.
So far, it’s living up to the hype.
The 49ers struck first late in the first quarter with a 20-yard TD pass from Colin Kaepernick to tight end Vernon Davis to cap a 13-play, 83-yard drive that took nearly seven minutes off the clock.
However, the Packers would even things up quickly after that led by the passing of Aaron Rodgers and some excellent play from Green Bay’s skill-position players. First, Jordy Nelson beat Nnamdi Asomugha for a 31-yard catch along the sideline. Then, the Packers set up a screen to Eddie Lacy, who rumbled for 31 yards. Finally, the drive ended with a five-yard TD catch from Randall Cobb, who showed exceptional strength and athleticism stretching the ball just over the goal line.
After one quarter, it’s 7-7 in San Francisco, and goodness, the next three quarters should be fun to watch.
