Hired last week by the 49ers, coach Chip Kelly had not yet conducted his introductory press conference. Now that his old team, the Eagles, has officially introduced coach Doug Pederson, Kelly will be meeting the San Francisco media for the first time.

The session will commence on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. ET, with G.M. Trent Baalke and owner Jed York present.

It’ll be interesting to see how Kelly is received by the local media, and how he reacts to potentially probing or aggressive questions about his time with the Eagles, why it didn’t work out, whether he will change his style, and the overall dynamics of the relationship with Baalke and York.

Baalke and York undoubtedly will be asked plenty of pointed questions, too, regarding the decision to hire a coach who will be a lot closer to Jim Harbaugh than Jim Tomsula on the work-and-play-well-with-others spectrum and the respective authority of the two men. York quite possibly will reiterate that he expects to win Super Bowls, which will raise the stakes for Kelly and Baalke.

Look for questions about the quarterback position and whether Kelly will be running off any of the team’s star players.

Then again, the 49ers currently don’t have many star players, so maybe that won’t be an issue.
