The Bengals played without wide receiver A.J. Green on Sunday and the wideout thinks the team will be in the same boat again next week.
Green told Bob Holtzman of ESPN that he expects his injured toe out of the lineup when the Bengals try to bounce back from their disappointing tie with the Panthers against the Colts in Week Seven. Green, who does not need surgery, was wearing a protective boot on Sunday while watching his teammates work out.
Green is scheduled to visit a foot specialist for the second time on Friday, which should give him a better idea of how long he’ll be out of the lineup. The fact that the meeting isn’t set until so late in the week suggests there’s not much chance that Green’s going to defy his own expectations.
Mohamed Sanu was the pace setter for the Bengals receivers in the tie, catching 10 passes for 120 yards and a touchdown while being targeted by Andy Dalton 14 times over the course of the afternoon. It seems he’ll be playing that role again next Sunday.
