Rams cornerback Lamarcus Joyner was fined by the NFL for a hit that gave a concussion to a sliding Teddy Brdgewater, but Joyner doesn’t think he can worry about stuff like that while he’s on the field.
Joyner said he feels terrible about hurting Bridgewater, but he also said he won’t think about those things while he’s on the field.
“I’ll try to be a little bit more careful but in a situation like that sometimes it’s bam-bam, I can’t go out there thinking or second-guessing myself and mess up the way I have played throughout my career. I have just got to be a little more careful with things like that.”
Rams coach Jeff Fisher said Joyner is not a dirty player, and Joyner appreciated that.
“They say a good name is better than wealth or any precious jewel, so for coach Fisher to talk highly of me and have my back, that goes to show what kind of kid I am in his eyes,” Joyner said. “Coach Fisher is a great man to play for.”
Fisher wants Joyner to keep playing the way he’s been playing, and Joyner plans to do just that.
