Albert Haynesworth takes heat from within Redskins locker room

When Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth was embroiled in his summer dispute with the team, it was interesting to hear some Redskins break the usual locker room code about talking negatively of a teammate.

Things have quieted down during the season, but some raw feelings remain. Longtime Redskin Philip Daniels pointed out that he hasn’t missed a practice all year, even though he’s 37 years old and has been sick lately. (Haynesworth was out Friday with an “illness.”) Daniels went on to say Haynesworth hasn’t grasped the concept of team football.

“If I can come out here and do this, don’t tell me that you can’t do it,” Daniels said.

It looks like Daniels and Haynesworth will remain teammates for another month. Both ESPN’s Adam Schefter and the Washington Post report the team won’t release Haynesworth during the season, despite a radio report by the ESPN980 that the team was strongly considering it.
