All UFL games will be televised nationally

In the same week that the Arena Football League figuratively took down the large end zone tennis nets for good, the new American pro football league has unveiled the schedule for its first season.

The list of games to be played, in October and November, reveals that every contest will be televised nationally.

VERSUS will broadcast one game for each of the seven weeks of the regular season (there’s a bye week for each of the four teams), and HDNet will show a game during the five weeks featuring two games.

VERSUS also has the championship game, which will be played the day after Thanksgiving, starting at 3:00 p.m. ET.

Five of the games will be played on Thursday nights, two on Wednesday nights, two on Friday nights, and three on Saturday evenings.

Venues include Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Orlando’s Citrus Bowl, AT&T Park in San Fran, the James M. Shuart Stadium on the campus of Hofstra University, Rentschler Field in Hartford, Connecticut, and the Home Depot Center in Los Angeles.

We’ll admit that we’re intrigued by the new league, primarily because we believe that it can become a true in-season developmental league for the NFL.
