No team has been harder hit by injuries than the Chargers this season, and now they’ve suffered another.

Chargers receiver Malcom Floyd went down hard on his shoulder and left the game in the second quarter tonight against the Bears. Floyd was diving for a pass from quarterback Philip Rivers, but couldn’t quite come down with it. Floyd was in obvious pain and stayed down for several minutes as teammates, coaches and medical attended to him. He eventually got up and walked off the field under his own power.

The 34-year-old Floyd has indicated that he plans to retire after this season, which means that it’s possible we just saw the last play of his career.

Floyd is second among the Chargers’ wide receivers with 409 yards this season. The Chargers’ No. 1 receiver, Keenan Allen, was lost for the season with a lacerated kidney.
