Another Chargers long snapper goes down

Being the Chargers’ long snapper remains the most dangerous job in America.

San Diego picked up their fourth long snapper in two weeks on Tuesday, signing Ethan Albright. He was picked up to replace Ryan Neil on injured reserve.

Neil joins David Binn and James Dearth as victims of the Chargers long snapping curse.

The team also announced Tuesday they signed safety Quinton Neal and cornerback Dante Hughes. They waived running back Curtis Brinkley and placed linebacker James Holt on injured reserve.

Brinkley’s departure (he should wind up on the practice squad) is a good sign that Ryan Mathews will return to action this week. Mathews said he was pain-free after a workout Monday.
