It wouldn’t be a Chargers offseason without some medical problem for tight end Antonio Gates for fans (and fantasy owners) to worry about.
The latest issue is a familiar one. Gates is getting his foot checked out by a specialist in North Carolina, according to the team. The six-time Pro Bowler is coming off a career high in receiving yards, although his foot bothered him towards the end of the season.
Gates is entering a contract year and the Chargers were expected to talk about an extension with him this offseason. To date, we haven’t heard anything about it. Gates may have to show he can stay healthy first.
