After a stellar college career at Northern Illinois, Jordan Lynch will be staying in the state to start his professional career.
He won’t be staying at quarterback, though. The Bears announced Lynch as part of their undrafted free agent class on Sunday and listed him as a running back.
Lynch said in February that scouts told him he could play quarterback in the NFL, but did running back drills at the combine in order to show off his best asset. Lynch was a Heisman Trophy finalist after running for 1,920 yards and 23 touchdowns last season and will try to show that he can put those skills to work without taking the snap to start each play.
Louisville defensive tackle Brandon Dunn, Wisconsin guard Ryan Groy, TCU guard James Dunbar, Alabama linebacker Tana Patrick, Florida State linebacker Christian Jones, East Carolina defensive tackle Lee Pegues, Temple tackle Cody Booth and South Florida linebacker Devekeyan Lattimore will also be trying to make the Bears over the next few months.
