Big Ben’s Twitter account is legit, sort of

The latest example of how slow things have gotten during the lockout? It’s actually regarded in some circles as newsworthy that Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has a Twitter account.

Unfortunately, while the account is indeed legitimate, it’s not a personal account containing updates from Ben’s life as typed into a smartphone from the 11th tee box.

“This twitter feed is for Mr. Roethlisberger’s official site -- for updates,” said the message posted earlier tonight on "@_bigben7,” the name of Roethlisberger’s non-page page. “He does not have a personal account.”

It would be interesting to see some of the messages that would appear on Roethlisberger’s personal account, if he in fact had one. (That’s a cue for PFT Planet to take that baton and run with it. To Georgia. Or to Nevada.)
