There hasn’t been a lot for the Bills to be proud of during their current six-game losing streak. It feels like the team’s apparent progress this year was a mirage.
One area that has undeniably improved however is the offensive line. The team rewarded a steady piece of that line right tackle Erik Pears, 29, on Tuesday with a multiyear contract extension.
“I can’t thank this organization enough for believing in me and giving me a real opportunity,” Pears told Chris Brown of the team’s official website. “I look forward to building on what I’ve done and continuing to get better.”
The line will look better next year when Eric Wood is off injured reserve. The team could still use a left tackle, but it appears their right tackle situation is covered for 2012.
