Bills To Use No Huddle Half The Time?

NFL_jauron.jpg

The Bills offense during the Dick Jauron era has often mirrored the vanilla public persona of its coach.

With the addition of Terrell Owens and the increased use of the no huddle offense, Buffalo is trying to liven things up in 2009.

The team won’t turn into the Jim Kelly Bills with the K-Gun offense overnight, but Chris Brown of BuffaloBills.com believes they could use the no huddle up to half the time this season.

“It was an emphasis for us in our offseason and our OTAs,” Jauron said recently.

The plan makes a lot of sense considering Buffalo’s personnel.

They have an untested offensive line, with no starters returning to play the same position they were in last season. The no huddle could cover up problems in pass protection with a quick-strike attack.

They have an intelligent young quarterback in Trent Edwards who should be able to handle the mental challenges of the offense.

Most importantly, they finally have some weapons to throw to: T.O., Lee Evans, Roscoe Parrish, and running back Fred Jackson are all versatile receivers.

It remains to be seen how successful the Bills are in a difficult AFC East, but they should be more interesting to watch.
