Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 sprain of the AC joint in his right shoulder and coach Gus Bradley said Monday that he wouldn’t be alarmed if the injury kept Bortles from practicing on Wednesday.
Bortles isn’t planning to test that claim. Bortles said Wednesday that he expects to have a normal practice week and that Bradley was just taking “the safe route” when leaving open the possibility he’d miss time.
“It’s fine,” Bortles said, via the Florida Times-Union. “I don’t expect any limitations at all. I planned on practicing the whole time. ... It’s important to me for the offensive line to see me in the huddle every play.”
Bortles is coming off a strong game against the Buccaneers and his play has generally been an improvement over his rookie season with the Jags. That hasn’t done much to help the team in the standings, but it looks like they’ll have Bortles in the lineup as they try to change that against Houston this weekend.
