Quarterback Tom Brady called the league’s investigation into under-inflated balls “ridiculous” on Monday, but there hasn’t been much from Patriots players since the report that 11 of the 12 balls the team used in last Sunday’s game were short of the league’s mandated level.
Cornerback Brandon Browner changed that on Wednesday. Browner took to Twitter to share his thoughts and seemed to suggest that the hubbub is much ado about nothing because of how handily the Patriots defeated the Colts.
“For my 2 cents Blount scored 3 rushing touchdowns. He could’ve carried a beach ball. Also doesn’t hurt we only gave up 7 points #inflatethis,” Browner wrote.
Colts tight end Dwayne Allen sent a similar message on Twitter on Wednesday, but there haven’t been many people suggesting that the Patriots won the game because of the amount of air in their footballs. We’ll have to wait for the league to reveal the results of their investigation to know if the Patriots are found to be at fault in this case, although the argument that the final score of the game absolves them of breaking league rules is a tough one to support.
