The Redskins are headed to linebacker Brian Orakpo’s hometown for Sunday’s game with the Texans, but his status for the game isn’t definite.

Orakpo sprained his ankle in the third preseason game of the summer and spent the first two days of this week practicing in a limited fashion. He was back to a full workload on Friday, though, and told Dianna Marie Russini of NBC Washington that he feels ready to go in the season opener.

The team seems less sure as Orakpo earned a questionable tag on the team’s final injury report of the week. If he isn’t able to go, the Redskins will be without three of their veteran defenders. Cornerback Tracy Porter and linebacker Akeem Jordan have already been ruled out of the game.

Porter had shoulder surgery in the offseason, but it is a hamstring issue that will sideline him against Houston. His absence will leave rookie Bashaud Breeland and E.J. Biggers as the reserve options behind David Amerson and DeAngelo Hall.
