Three weeks after trading their starting quarterback, the Broncos have dumped one of their starting cornerbacks.

The team has announced that veteran corner Andre’ Goodman has been released.

Goodman started every game in 2011, eight in 2010, and all 16 in 2009, his first year with the team. The 33-year-old defender also has played for the Lions and Dolphins.

Goodman, who was due to earn a base salary of $4.62 million in 2012, instantly becomes a free agent. His spot in the starting lineup presumably will be filled by newcomer Tracy Porter, assuming that Porter isn’t suspended for his role in the three-year bounty program in New Orleans.
