Browns safety Brodney Pool has a history of concussions, suffering at least four in his five-year career.
The latest injury will keep him out this week against the Chargers, and coach Eric Mangini says “chances are he won’t be playing again this year.”
A second round pick in 2005, Pool suffered a concussion on his first pro play. The Cleveland Plain-Dealer believes the recurring problem could threaten the starter’s career. Pool was scheduled to be a free agent at year’s end.
Mike Adams and receiver/safety Mike Furrey are candidates to replace Pool in the lineup.
