The Colts have their most winnable game in a while Sunday at home against the Jaguars.
They will have to try to win it without the services of tight end Dallas Clark. Coach Jim Caldwell says Clark’s leg injury is “significant” and will last “more than a week” according to Phillip B. Wilson of the Indianapolis Star.
The same is true for backup tight end Brody Eldridge’s hand injury. It’s possible that Clark’s season could be in jeopardy.
Clark was only able to play in six games last year. He has 287 yards with two touchdowns this year, and has struggled with drops.
It’s hard to imagine the Colts cutting Clark, but he will be 33 years old next year and is due $4.53 million. At some point, the team may run out of patience with his injuries or ask him to take a pay cut.
