Dan Snyder says he doesn’t want to be involved in football operations

NFL Owners Meet To Discuss Status Of Contract Negotiations

When Vinny Cerrato was in Washington, we got the sense that Dan Snyder had a voice in football matters. That probably wasn’t a good thing.

Now that Mike Shanahan and Bruce Allen are running the show, Snyder wants no part of it.

“I mean, for me it’s easy. I don’t want to be involved,” Snyder said on NBC Washington this week, via DC Sports Bog. “I enjoyed this draft probably more than any draft we had, because these guys worked so hard at preparation. It’s very different than Vinny Cerrato, their structure, and I can tell you that I thought the trades and the moves that Bruce [Allen] made to accomplish what he accomplished was really remarkable.”

(NBCWashington has a total of 12 videos, which put together looks like the many faces of Dan Snyder.)

We still have doubts about the direction of the franchise; their roster needs a lot of work to put it mildly. Still, it’s hard to come to any other conclusion than the setup under Shanahan/Allen is better than the one under Cerrato.

Of course, it’s hard to come up with any setup that’s not superior to the one under Cerrato.
