Lions cornerback Darius Slay had a tough matchup with Steelers receiver Antonio Brown when the two teams had a joint practice this week. But Slay wanted the world to know that it wasn’t as tough for him as some people were saying.
So after practice observers said Brown got the best of Slay, Slay went to Snapchat to post video of himself covering Brown, in an attempt to show that he held his own.
That, of course, is not something the Lions’ coaches will appreciate. NFL coaches are fanatical about keeping practice information private to prevent opposing teams from getting an edge. And so it’s no surprise that Slay later deleted those videos. Slay declined to say whether he was punished for posting the video.
“I ain’t talking about that,” Slay said, via MLive.com. “I ain’t going to talk about that man.”
Slay, who did not play in Friday night’s preseason opener, also declined to answer when asked if he’s injured.
“I’m good,” he said. “I guess I got nothing to say.”
The Lions will be pleased if Slay continues to have nothing to say about what goes on in practice.
