Dez Bryant: I can’t believe ball came out

Dallas Cowboys v New York Giants

It took most of the night, but Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant finally extended his streak of games with a catch to 83 with just over two minutes left to play in Sunday’s game against the Giants.

Any excitement over that development disappeared a moment later, however. Bryant was stripped of the ball by cornerback Janoris Jenkins and the Giants recovered the ball to end the Cowboys’ last good chance of coming back in what wound up as a 10-7 loss.

“It was just an unfortunate situation. I’m at a loss for words,” Bryant said, via the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “I can’t believe it came out, but it did. We made too many mistakes and it cost us.”

Two of the other mistakes came on throws to Bryant as well. Both of Dak Prescott’s interceptions were on throws to Bryant with the first coming when Bryant slipped while running a route. Miscues like these have been few and far between for the Cowboys this season, but they came with some frequency on Sunday night to give the Giants a sweep over a team that no one else has beaten once.
