Browns running back Dion Lewis learned the hard way on Wednesday that tweets can’t be wiped clean by simply hitting the delete button.

Regarding the murder charges pending against Aaron Hernandez, Lewis made this observation regarding the information provided to police by Carlos Ortiz, via the Cleveland Plain Dealer: “Aaron Hernandez homie snitched on him lol. #unrealfriends.”

Lewis, who was traded to Cleveland by the Eagles earlier this year, deleted the tweet after being called out by some of his followers, and he tried to defend it by explaining “I ain’t say he was right for murdering him genius.”

No, Lewis didn’t. But he did suggest it was wrong for Ortiz to cooperate with police, by using the term “snitched.”
