The news came out of the blue on Tuesday morning. Dolphins running back Knowshon Moreno has been lost for the year with a knee injury suffered on Sunday against the Packers.
The injury apparently happened during Moreno’s only carry of the second half. After he exited the game, the Dolphins apparently did not announce that Moreno was injured, or that his return was in any way in doubt. After the game, coach Joe Philbin said nothing about Moreno not playing much because he is injured.
“Those were just the players we decided to play in the game,” coach Joe Philbin told reporters in response to the question of whether Moreno was available to play late in the contest.
If, as it appears, the Dolphins failed to disclose Moreno’s injury, the Dolphins will face scrutiny from the league office.
