NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora reports that the Miami Dolphins will host free agent defensive end Mark Anderson at their club headquarters Friday.
For a 29-year-old pass rusher coming off a double-digit sack season, Anderson has drawn surprisingly little interest on the open market. It’s true that he’s been inconsistent throughout his career, but Anderson can put pressure on quarterbacks and that trait usually pays.
Anderson is a bit undersized for an every-down defensive end role at 6-foot-4, 255, and the Dolphins’ lone weak spot on the line is left end. The Fins may view him as a pass-rush specialist only, instead of a starter.
Anderson is a top-20 overall player on the PFT Hot 100.
