After an offseason spent watching linebackers leave, the Dolphins have finally brought one in.
The team announced they had signed former Giants linebacker Spencer Paysinger, who visited today.
Ostensibly, Paysinger replaces the depth/special teams role vacated by Jason Trusnik, who signed with the Panthers this week.
But after peeling away Dannell Ellerbe and Phillip Wheeler this offseason, the Dolphins clearly needed all the depth they can get at the position.
Paysinger was a 10-game starter in 2013 for the Giants, but didn’t get much time on defense last year, and now has the chance at more of a role.
