Donovan McNabb: “When you’re 0-2, there’s no need to panic”

The Minnesota Vikings have not played well this year, and new quarterback Donovan McNabb has not played well. But McNabb would like to remind everyone that the Vikings still have 14 games to right the ship.

“When you’re 0-2, there’s no need to panic,” McNabb said.

Instead, McNabb said, he and some of the other veterans called the team together to talk about what needs to be done.

“But there’s a sense of urgency that has to take place,” McNabb said. “I think it was the time [for a team meeting]. It was one that needed to be addressed. Then we’ll see how it goes from there.”

McNabb said that in addressing the younger players, he didn’t exempt himself from those who need to improve if the Vikings are going to turn things around.

“If you’re going to speak, you have to be critical of yourself as well,” McNabb said. “There are a lot of things we need to clean up as a team and I’ll clean up myself. But everyone isn’t sitting there pointing fingers. This isn’t the time to be pointing fingers. I don’t believe in that anyway.”

If the Vikings drop to 0-3 when the Lions come to town on Sunday, a lot of people will be pointing fingers at McNabb.
