On Wednesday, PFT reported, via a league source, that quarterback Thad Lewis will play against the Chiefs on Sunday despite having injured ribs.

Lewis missed practice again on Thursday, leaving Jeff Tuel and Matt Flynn to take the reps with the first-team offense. Bills coach Doug Marrone was asked about the report after the session.

“I’m hoping the league source is right,” Marrone said, via Mike Rodak of ESPN.com. “Because I really don’t know right now. It’s 50-50. Trust me.”

Marrone offered a bit more optimism in regard to running back C.J. Spiller. Marrone said that he “feels good” about Spiller making his return to the lineup after sitting out last week to rest his injured ankle. With Fred Jackson and wide receiver Stevie Johnson also practicing on Thursday, it looks like a full supporting cast will await whoever takes the snaps against Kansas City.
