The Eagles have added a former college quarterback who won’t play quarterback in Philly.
According to Reuben Frank of CSNPhilly.com, Chip Kelly and company have signed former Nebraska quarterback Taylor Martinez. Per Frank, Martinez will be moved to receiver or defensive back.
Martinez wasn’t invited to the Scouting Combine. At his Pro Day, he worked out at quarterback, safety, and receiver. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.41 seconds.
The Eagles view Martinez as a long-term prospect, especially since he hasn’t played defensive back since high school and caught only one pass during his college career.
